Ben is Running for Judge to Serve the Community That Raised Him
Ben Burnett is running for Circuit Court Judge to serve the people of Marion, Baxter, Boone, and Newton Counties—the very communities where he was raised, built his law practice, and is now raising a family of his own. He’s deeply rooted here, and he understands our values because he lives them every day.
With over a decade of legal experience, Ben brings a strong, steady hand to the courtroom. He’s a graduate of Kansas State University and the Appalachian School of Law in Virginia, and he’s spent his career standing up for others—as a public defender, an attorney for children in abuse and neglect cases, and through pro bono work for those who couldn’t afford a lawyer. Ben doesn’t just talk about fairness—he’s lived it in and out of the courtroom.
He believes a judge should follow the law, not personal politics. He treats people with respect, listens carefully, and holds everyone to the same standards. That kind of even-handedness is rare these days, and it’s exactly what we need on the bench.
Ben grew up in Baxter County and later returned home to raise his children with his wife, Lindsey. They live in Marion County on the family ranch, where life still revolves around faith, family, and responsibility. Together, they’re raising three wonderful kids—Izzy, Sophia, and Bowman—with the same values that shaped Ben: honesty, hard work, and service to others.
When he’s not in court, he’s usually with his family—whether that’s coaching a kids’ team, helping with school events, or enjoying the outdoors. His legal experience is broad, his moral compass is strong, and his commitment to this community is personal.
Ben Burnett is not a politician—he’s a professional, a parent, and someone who truly believes in justice done right. He knows this region, he knows the law, and he’s ready to serve with integrity.
